At the start of this new year, a new browser wallet was announced for the TON network. This wallet claims to connect users to TON dApps and services for free. It also supports the large number of network nodes that will need to be maintained in order to make the TON protocol work. The new wallet is a part of the TON project, which is an ambitious project to create a new blockchain, and a new type of internet. The TON project has been controversial, and has suffered many delays, but the development team has worked to ensure that the project will be completed in 2019.   The new browser wallet was developed using the TON protocol, which is a blockchain protocol that is designed to work on top of

The TON (Telegram Open Network) project has been in development for several years, but it is now making significant progress towards a public test network launch. The launch is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2019, and it will be the world’s first third-generation blockchain network. TON is intended to make mass-market blockchain adoption a reality, by delivering scalable, secure, and easy-to-use functionality. The end goal is to reach a capacity of 1 million transactions per second. This is expected to enable a new wave of blockchain-based apps that will be accessible through a simple web browser. A developer has now created a new TON wallet that will enable internet users around the world to access the new blockchain

The highly scalable, decentralized blockchain platform features a user-friendly, browser-based wallet to facilitate dApp development.

Crystal wallet

Metamasca. Anyone who has been interested in Ethereum for more than a week knows about this browser-based wallet. It enables numerous decentralized applications (dApps) to connect to Ethereum, send transactions and communicate with smart contracts.

Metamask has become the industry standard and the benchmark for users who expect at least the same level of convenience from any new trading blockchain.

With this comfort in mind, the Broxus team, the developer of the bridge between the Free TON and Ethereum networks and one of Free TON’s main validators and miners, has created a new wallet that is fully browser-based.

With extensive experience developing dApps for Free TON, Bitcoin and Ethereum, Broxus has redesigned its Crystal Wallet, a fork of the original Gram Wallet created by the Telegram team. The new wallet retains the name Crystal Wallet, which has been very well received by the community.

Wallet users will appreciate Free TON Wallet’s clean, user-friendly interface and support for all popular contract types. They will be able to restore their portfolio from the desktop application or create new accounts. In addition, the team plans to add support for TIP-3 tokens to facilitate interoperability with other Broxus products, TON Bridge and TON Swap.

The command emphasizes that all sensitive information (passphrases and private keys) remains encrypted in local storage and is never taken outside the user’s device. Users have to create passwords that they have to enter every time they want to spend money or confirm dApp requests.

On the decentralized application side, the Crystal Wallet extension provides a Web3-like Free TON API that it uses for local calls to interact with the blockchain. This opens up huge opportunities for dApp developers, whether in multi-signature repositories like Gnosis Safe, various DEX, game projects or NFT.

Users will be able to strictly control all operations performed by the dApp that affect their funds.

We care a lot about the security of users’ funds, so we’ve published the wallet’s source code on Github and plan to review the solution’s security once it’s out of beta. – Says Vladislav Ponomarev, CEO of Broxus.

The team has developed a detailed roadmap for the development of the portfolio, which includes mobile and desktop versions, multiple accounts, and other user interface enhancements. Follow the Free TON community to keep up with the latest news on the project.
