Gene Simmons is best known for his band Kiss, a rock band formed in 1973 by Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. Simmons has also been known as an entrepreneur for years. Just recently, it was reported that Simmons spoke to his Twitter followers about the cryptocurrencies he owns. Last week, the bassist told fans that he had bought BTC, ETH, LTC, DOGE, XRP and other digital assets.
Rockstarlegend Gene Simmons regularly discusses cryptocurrencies on social media. This week he spoke with Bitcoin.com podcast host Dustin Plantholt.
That Saturday, Simmons joined Tesla founder Elon Musk and hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg and began tweeting about Dogecoin (DOGE). Additionally, this week the Kiss Rockstar sat down with Bitcoin.com podcast host Dustin Plantholt for a podcast sponsored by exchange.Bitcoin.com. During the interview, Simmons told Plantholt that, unlike most of his peers, he was a bookworm and had been reading about economics since he was young.
When I was a kid, I started reading stuff that other kids weren’t reading, the Kiss bassist said during the podcast. So, as you know, reading is fundamental, and the more information I had, the more questions I had. I learned about capitalism and how it works, how the government prints money. The fact that the dollar was once based on gold and had value, and that at some point in the past, before most of you were born, the dollar was no longer based on gold, Simmons added. The musician added:
The [dollar] is not based on anything.

It doesn’t matter if it works, Simmons emphasized in his conversation with Plantholt. So the world remains dollar-based to some extent. Even the terrorists want to be paid in dollars, not local wombat coins. I’m not an expert, I’m not giving you advice or suggesting anyone get into crypto currency, I’m just telling you what I do. The more governments, including the US government, continue to print money based on nothing, the more you will end up paying the price.
Crypto has roots in humans
Simmons said he became interested in crypto three months ago, studying Satoshi Nakamoto and the digital asset economy. When asked why it took so long, Simmons explained that sometimes older generations need time and don’t really understand.
Watch next Thursday the 11th. February 2021 to listen to the rest of the exclusive interview with Gene Simmons on the Bitcoin.com Podcast.
For example, he recalled that older relatives never understood how he made money while she worked day in and day out from 9 to 5. Simmons explained that money is changing, just as influencers like the Kardashians have changed the entertainment world.
I did some research on Satoshi, where he came from and what he was, the kissing frontman said. It seems to me that the value of things is determined by people. Property values are only based on what people say. The value of gold is just what people agree on, and even Wall Street and stocks are based [on people’s valuations], you can make your own valuation, but if people aren’t buying stocks, it means nothing, Simmons stressed.
The Kiss bassist said crypto seems to be a friendly neighbor, meaning it has a lot more roots in people. Mr. Simmons also noted that a number of prominent individuals have also expressed interest in the crypto space. Simmons likes cryptocurrencies because of this appeal and swell.
You have your cold, infinite wallets, all this crypto-currency nonsense that the rest of us don’t understand, he explained in the interview. But there’s a simple idea, and the simple idea is that you have a deck of cards, and cryptocurrency is one of those things. You can choose Litecoin, Bitcoin….. whatever you want. The question of how it began and what the intentions were is not an issue for me. The theme and attraction for me is that people like it. Whether it’s Elon or Cam’ron and Tyler, there are a lot of interesting people.

Buffet has been modified
Simmons also said he had a conversation about bitcoin with Mark Cuban and that cryptocurrencies are changing or will change soon. I had a conversation with Mark Cuban the other day, and he made some comments about bitcoin, Simmons said. The buffet will also change. You can’t avoid it, I know the Goldman [Sachs] people are interested in it, the institutional money, and Scaramucci is interested in it, the musician added. Simmons went on to say:
I don’t think most people understand what crypto currencies are, what they’re for, but it’s instantaneous and you don’t have to deal with banks – I like that.
It was just a few minutes of discussion with Bitcoin.com podcast host Dustin Plantolt and Gene Simmons of Kiss. The conversation goes on for 25 minutes, and at one point Simmons says he thinks China is behind the recent lawsuit against Ripple. The musician also spoke about music piracy and what he thinks about this trend, which has increased dramatically in the past decade. At the end of the interview, he advised people not to give up on silver and said that he is still passionate about precious metals like gold and silver today.
